Presentation of the event This mountain race between Portugal & Spain with the slogan «Running through the lands of the Sabugalese border» includes four competitive races with the following distances : 43 km – 25 km – 15 km and 9 km. The races were certified by the Portuguese Trail Running Federation (ATRP) and by ITRA. The 43 km and 25 km races is part of the National League Circuit and the 25 km race is part of the Portuguese Cup. The points of interest go through the magnificent landscapes of mountain Sierra de Gata (Spain) and protected area of Serra da Malcata (Portugal). The historic villages of Sortelha, Monsanto, Almeida, the medieval castle of Sabugal, are some of the many highlights of the region.. With several hundred participants surrounded by their families at every stage of the path, TRAIL DA RAIA goes to another level by providing trails that are intended not only for already confirmed athletes but also for all friends of nature who want to practice sport individually or with their family.
ULTRA TRAIL
This race is egigent and requires good physical preparation, mainly due to the distance to be traveld, however the altimetry is reasonable and the trails are generally fast, allowing you to enjoy a unique route through Portuguese and Spanish lands. After the visit to the Spanish village of Navasfrias, heading the Sierra de Gata, the region of Extremadura then entering the protected area of the Serra da Malcata in the Serra das Mesas. LONG TRAIL
For experienced athletes, the Long Trail is the ideal race to compete and discover the Spanish landscapes of the province of Salamanca and Cáceres as well as the Serra da Malcata.
